This is my experience with PolarKraft.
1. I agree to purchase the boat for $25,000.
2. I pick up my boat and find the boat has been run into and damaged by my dealer. Accidents happen, no big deal.
3. I spend an additional $3,000 in accessories in my dealers shop.
4. I get an option to keep the boat until winter. I take that option because it would have been an inconvenience for my dealer to coordinate the boat repair during the busy season.
5. I bring the boat in to have a fish finder installed. I pick the boat up to find the paint chipped off the rails, lettering peeling off the boat and areas where it appeared the boat had been painted. I assumed that the staff caused this when they lifted the deck of the boat install the fish finder.
6. The dealer's warranty lady advise me that that it is a paint issue and it will be resolved. I have to take their word for it. They photographed this before ever leaving the shop.
7. I accept the boat and run it a few more times throughout the summer. Remember, my new boat in dented, has the paint chipped off it, and peeling letters. Again, I accepted it because I did not want it to inconvenience my dealer.
8. I return the boat to my dealer in November 2015.
9. I call in after my dealer's January break to find the boat has not been sent in and no progress has been made.
11. I later learn that PolarKraft may total my boat, or fix it, but the company has been sold off.
12. It is now May of 2016 and I have no boat. I have been told several things from shipping issues to company issues.
13. I attempt to contact PolarKraft privately through a message on May 5th. However there has been no reply in over 10 days.
If PolarKraft is willing to earn my business, and retain me as a customer then, they will step to the plate and make something happen. Nothing I hate worst than having to discuss my issues in a forum. I have contacted my dealer and tried to purchase a new boat, however, they will only give me about $21,000. So purchasing a PolarKraft for me has been a $4,000 dollar mistake and I still have no boat. If you add the accessories, then consider it a $7,000 mistake.
Has anyone had this kind of experience? Does PolarKraft normally function this way? The next step for me is the BBB.
