I have a 2004 PK Kodiak 165sc ( had it for about 3 yr only) and have never been in a PK Dealership. I like my boat.
I'm assuming you just got this boat from the dealer not someone who owned it for a few months and could have modified it.
1. owners manual - I doubt it. I've been looking at Pk forums for a few years and "where's the OM" seems to be a common question.
2. battery switch - I would think that's a after market item so not on new boats unless you make a deal with the dealership or do it yourself.
3. when running you're just charging the cranking battery. Unless you arranged for more aftermarket electronics installed you're deep cycle is just powering your trolling motor and maybe a couple of other small apps. up front. After you see how the boat performs for several months you
may want to consider the electronics to perform this "charging both batteries process" . -> Search the net for ACR [ blueseas makes a very
popular type of them - few models some packages also come with battery switch] and VSR voltage sensitive relay [ BEP marine ] ; 2 titles for
devices that do almost exactly the same thing . If you shop well for them yourself cost should be below $100.
4. I looked for the specs on your boat - I didn't look too hard but found PK performance test for 2011 outlander 186sc. It included specs
that claimed FUEL CAPACITY 27 GAL. You'll have to do a LOT of running to burn up that amount of fuel so I think your gauge is good.
I think my fuel tank is 18 gal - I go on a fishing trip for 2 wk and it takes me about 12 days to empty that tank. When you filled it up did you
notice how much it took [ how much it cost ] ? In some states/stations the high test gas does not contain ethanol
which should be a concern
for you. If ethanol is in your gas
you should also be using a fuel additive such as Sta-bil Marine or others; there are several good ones usually
sold at marinas mfr. by the engine mfr. Mercury, Yamaha etc. that will deal with the water in your gas tank that is common with ethanol gas. You
don't want water to set in your motor. I good idea would be to find the PK specs for your boat and copy or save an image of them so you
can refer to them as time goes on. And here's the site for the
performance test I found
